Njord Gas Infrastructure
Njord Gas Infrastructure (NGI) is a Norwegian company we established to invest in Gassled - the world’s largest offshore natural gas transmission system, which serves the Norwegian continental shelf. We hold 82% of NGI. In June 2011, NGI completed the acquisition of ExxonMobil’s 8% stake in Gassled. Gassled comprises 7,737 kilometres of natural gas pipelines connecting offshore gas fields of the Norwegian continental shelf to two processing plants in Norway through to receiving terminals in Belgium, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Norway is the world’s second largest net exporter of natural gas - 95% of its gas flows through Gassled which delivers circa 20% of all natural gas consumed in Europe. As an infrastructure monopoly, tariffs are subject to a regulated return on capital and long-term take-or-pay contracts support cash flow certainty. NGI is the first non-oil & gas company approved by the Norwegian government as a Gassled participant.
